Nepal trek cost and permit calculator
Pick a trek, your month and your group. The calculator adds up the permits you need (official fees, in NPR and US dollars) and the guide, porter and flight prices agencies publish, then compares the result with the package prices agencies list.

Trek cost and permit calculator
Per person, from the fees and day rates on this site. Permit fees are official where the issuer publishes them; guide, porter and flight prices are what agencies publish. Change any number.
Sources: permit fees on permits and rules; day rates, flights and package prices in each trek guide's cost section.
How it works
- Permits come from the issuers' own fee tables where they publish them: the Department of Immigration for restricted areas, NTNC for ACAP and MCAP, the national park and the local municipality for the Everest region. See permits and rules.
- Restricted areas charge in US dollars by days (Upper Mustang) or by the week then by the day, with peak-season rates from September to November (Manaslu).
- Guide and porter day rates and flights are ranges agencies publish, cited on each trek page. A guide is shared by the group; we divide by the number of people.
- NPR and US dollars stay apart unless you type your own exchange rate, because rates change daily and we only publish numbers we can source.
- Not included: lodges and meals, road transport, tips, insurance and gear. Agency packages usually include lodges and meals, so the package price is the fairer comparison for a full trip.
