What this does and does not prove. Being a TAAN General Member means the company appears in the trekking agencies' trade association directory. It is not the same as holding a current Department of Tourism trekking licence, and it says nothing about price or quality. Before paying a deposit, ask the agency for its Department of Tourism licence number and confirm the company name and registration number match the TAAN profile above.
Booking with any agency
- Get the itinerary, price and inclusions (permits, transport, guide, porter, lodges, meals) in writing.
- Pay the deposit to the company's own account or by card, not to a personal account.
- Check the trek's permits and guide rule on our permits and rules page.
Planning a trek and want to compare prices? Get quotes from several TAAN member agencies at once, or work out the permit and guide costs in the calculator.
